” We’re all mad here” -Cheshire cat | Halloween makeup!!

Of course Halloween is my favorite time of year!!!! I remember seeing a ton of Cheshire Cat makeup creations on Instagram last year so I HAD TO re-create my own version of this classic Disney character.
FACE: I applied a foundation that was one shade lighter then my natural skin tone. My favorite is l’oreal True Match Foundation In W6 (I usually wear W7). For my concealer I used Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer in Sand. To highlight  my under eye , bridge of my nose, and center of my forehead I used Maybelline’s Fit Me Concealer in Light. I set all highlighted areas with a matte white eyes shadow from BH cosmetics. To  make sure i  bring a little color back to the face I like to use ” Sun Power” from MAC Cosmetics and ” peaches ” from MAC Cosmetics for blush.

EYES: Yes yes yes; once again, I used the Urban Decay “Electric” palette for the eyes as well as the pink strips on the chest. For the eye lids and strips I used the color “Jilted” and in the crease I applied ” Urban”. I used a little bit of “Carbon” from MAC on the outer corners and finished off with gel liner from NYX and L’oreal Voluminous Mascara for my lashes!

MOUTH: When you are creating a  fake mouth with teeth you always want to take a white pencil liner and map out your teeth and mouth area. This way you can make sure your teeth are cemetric  before you start going in with color. To fill in the theeth, I used NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in ” Milk” and set it with a matte eye shadow. I also used that same NYX pencil and matte shadow for the white strips on my neck.

my daughter will be the Turquoise version of the Cheshire Cat. I’ll be posting pictures of her costume on Sunday !

WHEN DARKNESS TAKES OVER

when darkeness takes over
Like a lot of people these days, i am a youtube junkie. I started watching tutorials, DIY and vlogs on Youtube my senior year of High school (2005). One of the first and my favorite YouTubers that i subscribed to was Nicole Guerriero. Just recently she recreated a look she had seen on Makeup Forever Official’s Instagram page. I FELL IN LOVE with it and instantly knew i would re-create it as well. I re-created this look using ALL MAKEUP, no Body paint.
  • You ALWAYS want to start any makeup application by moisturizing your skin. I like to use Olay’s daily moisturizer with SPF 15 for normal to dry skin.
  • With a damp Beauty Blender i applied a liquid foundation that was about 3 shades lighter then my normal skin color, all over my face, neck, and chest. Applying a lighter foundation is going to help the eye shadows show up to it’s true pigmentation.
  • To set the Foundation i used Makeup Forever HD translucent setting powder. i Love this Setting powder for Halloween looks, although i DO NOT prefer it for my everyday makeup routine.
  • All of the eyes shadows i used for this look came from the Urban Decay ” Electric palette”  IMG_3066
  • i used the colors: Savage, Gonzo, Chaos, Jilted, Freak, Urban and Thrash

  • To blend the shadows out i used all Crown Royal Brushes. For this type of look it doesn’t make what brand or what type of brushes you use, whatever gets the job done.
  • To black out the right side of my face i used Maybelline’s Gel Liner in Black and set with a no-name brand Black Shadow, i also created the black stripes across my face with the same gel liner.

#MOTD Life isn’t Black & White, so turn up the COLOR!

I know I know it’s summer, and I probably shouldn’t be wearing so much makeup BUT as a makeup artist summer means COLOR! Haha! I love wearing bright colors on my lids but it CAN BE very intimidating! So I decided to go for a bold liner and lips! I used ALL  Eye shadows for my look today! They all came from Urban Decay’s ” electric palette”

I used the color ” trash” for my winged liner and the color ” chaos” in my lower water line. For my lips I used the color ” gonzo” all over and then used ” chaos” for the the outer corners of my lips to give it an ombré affect.

My foundation is Loreal’s true match foundation in W6 . I used Maybelline’s Fit me concealer in “sand sable” & “medium” for my under eyes! I set my under eye concealer with Ben Nye’s Luxury powder in ” Banana” . My bronzer is Mac’s Mineralized skinfinish in “sun power” and my highlight is also Mac’s Mineralized Skinfinish in “Superb” (limited edition)
